Starting in the 80’s Boyd Coddington made the word “Billet” a household word for automotive enthusiasts. 30 years later his son Chris is bringing back some of the old school billet designs that his father made famous. As trends cycle and time passes certain trends tend to come back but with a little twist. If you were a teenager or an adult in the late 80’s and early 90’s you’ll remember the Sport Truck movement. Lowered Chevy/GMC with some billet wheels. The trend is coming back but now in larger diameters and different finishes. In 1995 Hot Rods by Boyd was making big wheels that maxed out at 17″ in diameter. Now in 2015 HRBB is bringing back some of these old school billet designs in diameters all the way up to 24″ to accommodate a wider range of fitments than ever before. Designed by Chris Coddington, Son Of Boyd Coddington, as a tribute to his father. The SOB (Spirit of Boyd) is a classic 5 spoke design that has detail in it like not other cast wheel on the market. The SOB is a cast center wheel that made to order like the rest of the HRBB lineup in 17 and 18″ for 5×4.5 and 5×4.75 bolt patterns. Widths range from 7″ to 12″ Custom widths available. Boyd Coddington is known for a lot of important custom car and aftermarket automotive innovations. The words Billet and Boyd go hand in hand. This Pro Sport design is part of the HRBB Retro Billet Series. Upsized to a 20″ soft lip rim it features the same hex cap that made these wheels recognizable from a mile away. The Pro Sport was one of the first truly directional wheels to be offered to the custom car world.
